10km into the race you would have climbed 400m, and also approach the Team of the Mountain point. Descend to the first single track, "Af & Af," leading to the initial Refreshment Station at 13km. At this point, Team Lite turns left, while the Team/Solo Challenge continues straight for an extra loop.
A short climb leads to the second single track, "Saggies Praat," following the escarpment road. Descend to Maggsleigh Dam via the "Lekker Man Lekker" single track, cross a rope bridge, and climb to the second Refreshment Station at 28km.
Enjoy another downhill single track, "Walala Wasala," returning to Maggsleigh Dam and climbing to the third Refreshment Station at 37km. Experience a short climb of 150m ascend over 5km, followed by a long downhill, "Break me Shake me," leading back to Sabie.
Cross the York New Village road for the fourth Refreshment Station at 51km. Cross over to Longtom Pass with caution, then descend through the "Blaze of Glory" single track to the Lone Creek tar road. Enter the "Princess" single track along the Sabie River, connecting to the Komatiland river single tracks back to Race Village.
*All Refreshment Stations will be self-service, providing energy drinks, snacks, ice cold water and fruits.*
Go out towards Castle Rock caravan park leading to the shooting range. Turn right towards Bridal Veil Falls. Ascend a 10km climb up the main logging road until you reach the Team of the Mountain point - 14km.
You will reach the first Refreshment Station 1km further at the Stables Hut. The entire section up to the first water point is a total climb of 650m in altitude. Climb to Hartebees Vlakte, passing Uncle D’s legendary waterfall. Keep your eyes peeled for the breathtaking grassland scenery and elusive antelope.
That section takes you all the way to the highest point on the route at 2170m above sea level. Riders then take a drop-down to Refreshment Station 2 at 30km into the route, in the pine seed orchard. Come back towards Stables Hut at 39km.
Follow the contour road along the edge of the value with a technical steep descent. Turn left onto the Fanie Botha hiking trail for a lot of downhill single tracks all the way to Bridal Veil Waterfall. Pass the falls on your left and then the Ceylon Village.
Do a switchback climb to the third Refreshment Station at 54km. From there do the ‘Single-Track-Forever’ towards Sabie River Camp and finish at the Race Village.
*All Refreshment Stations will be self-service, providing energy drinks, snacks, ice cold water and fruits.*
Scattered start from Race Village, slowest rider to start first. Go through Merry Pebbles Caravan Park, over a bridge, along the single track past the shooting range, crossing the Ceylon tar road through the pine plantations.
Fast-flowing single tracks lead to the floating bridge! Ride towards Lone Creek Falls doing the cave single track. Before the falls turn left and start a climb that winds to the back of the falls to the Maritzbos Hut and the first Refreshment Station at 16km.
From there, the track comes back on the other side of the valley around the back of the falls and towards the main logging road, following the main contour road. Ride along to Bridal Veil Waterfall. Just as the falls come into view turn back onto a single track down to the Ceylon Village. This will be the second Refreshment Station at 27km.
Start a climb of 3km to the top of Diamonds Portion, when you reach the top descend the same beautiful single track from the day before and ride to the finish at the Race Village.
